Dining in Stile - Food Photo & Video for The Stile Bridge

As Sous Chef for many years at The Poet at Matfield, Gokarna Panthi turned out thousands of plates of sensational food under former Head Chef Petrus Madutlela and latterly Head Chef Lee Adams.

Now he makes his debut as Head Chef at The Poet’s sister restaurant The Stile Bridge. And he’s smashing it. Turning out a menu of varied refined dishes, such as Blue Lobster Tortellini, Tuna Tataki and ‘Pork & Octopus’, Gokarna probably wouldn’t like to use the term ‘fine dining’ or ‘gastropub’ but I’m afraid I’m left with no choice when it comes to food of this calibre or refinement.

Being asked to photograph dishes for The Stile Bridge is not a common request these days. The increase in minimum wages and national insurance contributions have crippled much of the hospitality industry across the UK, slashing the marketing budgets of the likes of many of my friends and clients. So it was with great delight that I traversed the narrow, winding country roads of the Kent countryside to capture on camera the wonders that are created in Gorkana’s kitchen recently.

Take a look at the images below, I hope they do some justice in communicating the flavours in each and every dish. If you’re in the Marden/Staplehurst/Maidstone area, do make sure you pop by for a visit. You won’t regret it.
